stripe dispute fee plus refund loss

Dispute fees stack on top of lost revenue and look like ‘fees too high.’ Isolate dispute rows in the CSV before you renegotiate pricing.

The actual problem

A chargeback costs the dispute fee and the original amount — operators undercount total loss when they only look at refunds.

Do this

  1. Export disputes for 90 days; sum dispute fees separately from refunded amounts.
  2. Add both into a monthly “payment friction” total — that’s what ads must clear.
  3. Tag top dispute reasons; fix the product/support path before raising spend.
  4. Publish a Netkiln page from the same period so partners see fee + volatility together.
