stripe payout csv columns meaning

Amount, Fee, and Net are not interchangeable — misreading them drives bad cash calls. Learn the columns once, then share a page instead of the raw CSV.

The actual problem

People misread Amount vs Net vs Fee and make bad cash decisions.

Do this

  1. Treat Amount as gross charge when present.
  2. Fee is Stripe’s cut (and sometimes extras).
  3. Net is what hits your balance for that row.
  4. Refunds often show negative Net with $0 Amount.
