Forgot captures leave authorized revenue that never settles. Audit uncaptured PaymentIntents, then explain gaps with settled payouts — not auth totals.
The actual problem
Manual capture leaves authorized charges uncaptured until they expire, so “sales” never settle.
Do this
- Payments → filter Uncaptured; capture or cancel within the auth window.
- Alert on payment_intent.amount_capturable_updated / uncaptured aging.
- Prefer automatic capture unless fulfillment truly requires delay.
- Reconcile uncaptured totals before reporting revenue to ads/finance.
