The actual problem

ACH ‘succeeded’ then returns days later after you’ve already fulfilled — cash and inventory both gone.

Do this

1. Hold high-AOV fulfillment until ACH clears (or require card for rush ship).
2. Alert on charge.refunded / payment_intent.payment_failed for ACH methods.
3. Reconcile returned ACH vs shipped orders weekly.
4. Document staff rule: no drop-ship on uncleared ACH above $X.
