The actual problem

Recovered carts never fire because abandoned checkout emails are off or delayed past purchase intent.

Do this

  1. Settings → Checkout → Abandoned checkouts — confirm emails are enabled.
  2. Check the delay (often 1–10 hours); shorten if your AOV is high-intent.
  3. Verify the from-domain SPF/DKIM so recoveries land in inbox.
  4. Sample 20 abandoned checkouts: how many received email vs recovered.
